*.+ {Normal School} ~ Day idek ok ~ #blacklivesmatter ~ Racism isn't a joke +.*

Bonjour Beautiful Tim~Tamz,

How are you all! I'm so excited to say this... but New Zealand is finally in Level 1!! We have fully conquered COVID~19! <3

But today's blog post isn't about that. It's about a serious problem that is happening globally, but especially in America. It's police brutality and racism. These are some serious topics that aren't handled well in some countries. But in New Zealand, as it does exist it's not seen regularly unlike in America where it's seen more often than not.

For Inquiry this term I'm doing an art piece about racism that happens globally. I want to include all skin colors and a variety of races and show issues that happen with these people. Because truly, no matter the skin color or your race, nobody has full rights to say horrible things about your true self. I want to put this topic into the spotlight and try to do something about it, or even make people think about it because even though I maybe 12, it doesn't mean I cannot speak up about this topic.

I've found a picture based on racism and I'd like to share it and write down what I think it shows. You can comment on what you think it shows and your thoughts if you'd like :)

{P.S ~ do ignore the writing on the wall because the word is misspelled but if it wasn't it would mean a racist thing. :) }

My thoughts on this picture ~ The little girl really wanted to go to school and get an education, except she was going to a school where black people weren’t caught alive at. But she didn’t care, she wanted to prove that she deserves a proper education no matter the skin color. She has to be guarded because no matter your age if you fit the description of any person and you’re black then you’re dead.

It shows what happens in America and especially during the #BLM protests from the George Floyd killing, and how police brutality kills and yet it’s taken over 400 years for something to be done, and still not much change has happened and it’s sad but true it might take more black lives to be taken before something is done.

White people have got crowns on our heads if we are in need of help and so is a black person and it’s the same severity. The white person will get help before the black person, all because they look different.

It's sad but true. I hope you all are staying safe! <3 See you on the next blog post! Toodles <3

{P.S ~ If you are feeling down or in need to ask for help, please ask for help. It is ok to speak up about your feelings because nobody will judge you. It's a weird time in the world right now and we all are feeling a little low. <3 Stay safe.}

  1. Bonjour Tamzin!
    I love your post and yes racism is serious. I agree with you! And did you know that that little girl ended up standing up for black people again? I think you did a great job explaining it all.

    1. Kia Ora Gaia,

      Thank you for the feedback! I never knew that the little girl stood up for black people. I'm glad you think I explained it well, it was difficult trying to not make it seem rude but also hard to make it educational. :)
